My work locates and investigates simultaneous intermediary spaces defined by dialectical pairings: figure/ground, organic/geometric, fluid/static, connection/isolation, 2-d/3-d. It can be thought of as a threshold between interior and exterior spaces, a site of mediation between inner and outer.

Situating the act of painting in a fluid understanding of space, matter, and humanity as multidimensional, multifaceted, and interconnected, I obliquely raise philosophical questions of place, human connection and identity through materially tenacious interrogation.

The relationship between my works on paper and my paintings is not direct; while the works on paper are part of the painting process, they are not studies for the paintings, but rather discrete works of art that may serve as laboratory and reference material.
